The Advantages Of A Business Owners Policy

Picture
Business Insurance Update
There is no denying the fact that the success of your business depends on the hard work of you and your team. But one disaster can wipe out all your efforts and take the profits to dust.  So, to avoid such a situation, you need to insure your business; whether it is a small enterprise or a large corporation.

There are insurance companies which have policies that combine protection for all major property and liability risks into one package. You can also opt for separate coverage. Such a policy is called a Business Owners Policy (BOP). Larger companies tend to purchase a commercial package policy.

What Is Included In A BOP?
BOP’s include property insurance for buildings and equipment owned by the company. If there is any loss of income due to disruption of operation and business because of accidents like fire, it can be covered under the Business Interruption Insurance.

A BOP also covers the company's legal responsibility for the harm it may cause to others, (bodily injury and property damage) as a result of your company’s negligence. BOP’s can also include professional liability, auto insurance, and workers’ compensation insurance.  Earthquake/Flood is not included in most BOP’s.

Advantages of A BOP
  • Includes many needed coverages
  • Can be very cost effective
  • Many of the top insurers offer BOPS
  • Can be modified to fit your needs

Picture
Business Insurance
The world is changing, and we understand the many issues that businesses face every day. There is constant competition for your customers, there are challenges in attracting and retaining top talent, and your cost of goods keeps going up. Part of your planning should include an annual business insurance review. We can offer a number of ways to save and improve on your business insurance program, including combining all your coverage into one “package”.

Did you know that many commercial insurance companies give discounts for combining your property, auto, liability, and even excess insurance into one program?

Here are the coverage’s we suggest you have for your business
  1. Commercial property
  2. Commercial auto
  3. Business liability
  4. Excess liability
  5. Professional liability
  6. Employment practice liability
  7. Cyber liability
  8. Employee dishonesty
A secondary benefit of combining your business insurance is that you have one place to get all your answers. If you have more than one agent working your program, there can be gaps and lack of accountability. With one professional agent you can trust them to have a complete view of your risks, exposure and then provide solutions to fit your needs.

As an Independent Insurance Agency we represent many insurance companies to fit your businesses dynamic needs.  Whether you're a new business or a small business, we can help.   Being an Independent Agent means we are not only your agent, but we are your insurance broker as well.  We understand every business and industry is unique, so we will work with you to find the best business insurance coverage at the lowest rate. Contact us today for a free quote.

Now Is The Time To Test Your Home Fire Safety Equipment

Picture
Having working fire safety equipment can save lives. But electronic devices are not infallible; batteries die, and other parts of the smoke detector can wear out over time. Regular testing can help ensure that your family will be safe in the event of a fire in your home.
  • Smoke Alarms--Test each smoke alarm in your home to make sure it is in good working order, and replace the batteries. It is also recommended that every bedroom have a smoke detector. Hard wired detectors are the best, but you can purchase newer detectors that have a battery life of 10 years.  Make sure everyone in the home recognizes the sound of the smoke alarm and knows how to respond.
  • Fire Extinguishers--Performing a monthly inspection of your fire extinguisher is easy. Check the label or user manual for the manufacturer's maintenance suggestions, and then follow those steps for doing your own monthly check. Keep the extinguisher in an open and common area, check the pull pin to make sure it still works, and check the pressure gauge.
  •  Carbon Monoxide Alarms—Refer to the manufactures instructions for testing your specific model.  However, to test most carbon monoxide alarms, you simply locate the test button, press and hold the button for a few seconds, and listen for the sound of the alarm to insure it is working. Finally replace the batteries.
