Follow These Steps To Improve Vacation Health

Picture
It is the time of year when many people are preparing for a restful vacation. Perhaps you are heading off to see the grandkids, or your whole family is taking a cruise. No matter what the activity, vacations are no reason to give up on healthy living. Here are few tips to help you stay healthy while on vacation.

Now would be a good time to check your personal insurance to make sure you are covered correctly.

How to Have a Healthy Vacation
  • Wash your hands often.
  • Take you supplements or victims with you.
  • Take vitamin C or Beta Glucan
  • Dink lots of water. If you travel abroad, consider bottled water.
  • Take long walks every day, use the stairs when possible, or use the hotel fitness room.
  • Limit fast food.
  • Pack healthy snacks likes dried fruit, healthy crackers, or nuts.
  • If you are driving, take breaks every few hours.
  • Always select a sit down restaurant. Order dressing on the side. Try local cuisine or fish.
  • Share your meals around the table. Serving sizes at standard restaurants can easily feed two people.
  • Limit the use of alcohol.
  • Keep bed bugs away.  Don’t store your clothes on the ground, use luggage racks; bed bugs do no climb.
  • Try to stick to your normal sleep schedule.
  • Bring your own pillow with you if possible.
  • Reduce the possibility of getting sick by never eat unpasteurized food or beverages, drinking only bottled water, avoid uncooked fruits and vegetables, eat plenty of fiber each day, and don’t put off going to the bathroom when nature calls.
Only an agent who is interested in your best interests would offer you options that included no insurance.  Rather than using any agent to get you an insurance quote, select a qualified independent agent who will collaborate with you and design a risk management program that meets your needs.

Strive Insurance Group, Inc. is a full-service independent insurance agency that has been serving the insurance needs of the Dallas area since 1984 (formerly Gordon Lund Insurance). Don't worry, nothing has changed, but our name. In addition to having a presence in the Dallas and North Texas area, we have also expanded to Austin and Central Texas with agent representation and the same professional service.

Let Us Help You Save On Your Auto Insurance

Picture
When it comes to auto insurance, having options can be a very important way to save money. Putting money back in your pocket is one of our primary goals.  We know and understand the auto insurance market.  This allows us to provide you with the best possible combination of pricing, coverage and service.

Auto insurance rates
Auto insurance rates differ from company to company, so it really pays to have us shop your insurance. Some markets offer better rates for trucks, RV and campers, while others can offer better rates for motorcycles.

Auto premium savings
There are many things you can do to keep your auto rates at the lowest level possible.
  • Review your deductibles. According to the Insurance Information Institute, raising your deductible from $200 to $500 could reduce your Collision and Comprehensive costs by 15 to 20 percent.
  • Look for discounts. There are many different discounts offered by insurance companies. These include multi-policy, good student, and more.
  • The kind of car you own can have an impact on the insurance costs. Do some research about a car, before you buy it.
  • Is your coverage appropriate based on the type of car you have? If you have an older car it may benefit you to consider raising your collision deductibles.
  • Get your policy up to date. Have you experienced changes like a new address, divorce or marriage? Call us for a policy review.

Striving for High Levels of Service
As our name implies, we strive to make your insurance experience positive. We understand you have many options when it comes to getting insurance, so we are going to strive to give you first class customer service you deserve.

Cyber Risk, Not Just To Protect Your Computer

Picture
Cyber Risk Survey
Recently The Business Journal published a report on cyber risk, and we thought the results would be good to share with you. While a majority of U.S. finance executives now see high-profile cyber-breaches as a major risk, many still have inadequate cyber insurance coverage. That finding comes from the Association for Financial Professionals’ survey of executives in corporate treasury, finance, and banking at its annual conference in Washington, D.C. Results are based on the 970 responses generated by the survey.1
The Survey Results
  • About 32 percent of respondents rated cyber risks as highest on a five-point scale. Another 28 percent slapped a “very high” label on those risks.
  • A whopping 31 percent of respondents don’t carry any cyber insurance.
  • Approximately 6 percent of companies uninsured for cyber risk picked up the coverage in the last year, and 15 percent increased existing coverage over the last 12 months.
  • That contradiction between acknowledging a cyber risk problem and taking steps to address it is in play even as many of these executives admitted that cyber breaches could harm financial institutions and cause loss of faith in electronic payments technology.
  • A solid minority of respondents also agreed that high profile breaches of cloud services and personal devices, successful large-scale attacks by foreign entities, and high profile data breaches at retailers would greatly harm business activity.
How to Reduce your Cyber Risk
  • Outsource credit card handling with a reputable vendor.
  • Use more complex passwords with a combination of letters, numbers and symbols.  Here is an example (MP#09xT28S%).
  • Don’t save passwords on your computer.
  • Question your internet security at every level, including email. It may be time to encrypt all emails.
  • Use the latest security software.
  • Do not allow laptops to leave the office without proper security.
  • Train your employees on cyber security.
  • Do not use an open network.
 Cyber Insurance
We can provide your firm with the right combination of pricing and coverage. Cyber risk    insurance is available at very reasonable premiums. Many of our companies offer coverage to help protect your business from loss.
